Gourmet Getaways first began representing chefs and cooking schools throughout Italy. During this time I helped people extend their stay in Italy by working with my favorite hotel supplier, JDB Fine Hotels, and booking their extended stay at boutique hotels in Italy.
Since the beginning, I created many customized itineraries and worked with individuals wanting to experience all the pleasures and sights of Italy. I realized this is where my efforts were really needed. Clients really needed my expertise in knowing the area they wanted to visit and explore. Consequently by business changed. Although I still keep in touch with the chefs in Italy I started putting my efforts in learning about the different regions in Italy. During these years I have visited Italy many times and developed many working relationships with hotel managers so my clients can receive VIP treatment. Throughout this time, I have created my own tours and escorted small groups to hidden areas of Italy to experience the culture, cuisine, and history.
Along this journey I developed relationships with dependable suppliers for hotels; established a great working relationship with hotel managers, private tour guides, private transfer companies and with incoming agencies directly in Italy. All this is essential in planning itineraries.
