Medieval town of Erice, the Greek temple site of Segesta, Marsala's ancient cellars, Palermo and it's beautiful churches and historic buildings. You will stay at the lovely seaside village of Vito Lo Capo at a lovely 4 star hotel. Your stay will begin with a Welcome dinner prepared by Chef Paolo and Chef Beppe and finish with the best of Chef Beppe Buffa's traditional Sicilian dishes at the farewell. |

Day 1: Sunday - You
will be picked up at
the Palermo Airport
and transferred by
minibus to San Vito
Lo Capo where you will
check into your hotel. You
will have time to relax
and enjoy the 4 star
hotel and it's beach. At
8pm you will have an
aperitif and a
Welcome Dinner with
Chef Paolo Monti and
chef Peppe Buffa
in his restaurant.
Day 2: Monday - "Introduction
to Sicilian Cooking" ,
your first cooking
class which will
begin at 10am and
last until 2pm. After
your lesson, at 3pm,
you will leave for
an excursion by minibus
and visit the surrounding
area. You
dinner at 7:30pm
will be in a typical
restaurant serving
local specialties.
Day 3: Tuesday - "Fish
in Sicilian Cooking" will
begin at 8am with
an excursion to the
local fish market
and learn how to
select fresh fish
for your 10am cooking
lesson. At
the market you will
have the opportunity
to see first
hand the colorful
exchanges between
buyers and seller
and Chef Paolo will
translate only the
less rude remarks! Diner
will be at the hotel.
Day 4: Wednesday - " Excursion
to Palermo" will
begin at 8:30 am
and you will visit
the beautiful Mediterranean
town of Palermo. Here
you will visit the
colorful shops, stalls,
fish vendors and
fried food sellers. Enjoy
the typical Palermo
habit of eating 'on
the go'. Don't
forget to try some
of the Sicilian delicacies. You
will also have the
opportunity to visit
churches and monuments. Dinner,
at 8pm, will be in
one of Palermo's
top restaurants with
some of Sicily's
best wines.
Day 5: Thursday - "Sicilian
Pastry" class
will begin at 10am. You
will learn to make
delicious cannoli,
cassata and the typical
marzipan fruits. In
the afternoon you
will have an excursion
to the ancient hill
town of Erice. At
7:30pm you will have
a wine tasting and
dinner in a local
restaurant in Erice.
Day 6: Friday
- "The great
Sicilian wines" excursion
will leave at 8:30am
and you will visit
and taste some of the
best Sicilian wine
makers. (Florio, Rallo
Duca di Salaparuta) You
will stop for lunch
in a local 'taverna'
and then go on to visit
the Greek temple area
of Segesta. You
will return to the
hotel by 5pm for a
light dinner.
Day 7: Saturday - The
Best of the Cucina
Siciliana" class
will begin at 10am. Chef
Peppe Buffa will
teach you to make
his favorite Sicilian
dishes. The
afternoon is free
to do as you wish. The
Farewell Dinner will
begin at 8pm in Chef
Peppe Buffa's restaurant
with live Sicilian
music and the entertaining "Cantastore": typical
Sicilian storytellers
in traditional costume
that sing in dialect
a story of a saint
or local hero.
