Chef Phillippe presents an interesting week long hands on cooking program in Provence, France. Your accommodations are at a B&B "La Malle Poste", where you can enjoy the grounds and swimming pool and the nearby villages during your free time. Your cooking lessons begin in the late afternoon and are followed by dinner and wine. Each class begins with a tasting of famous French cheese combined with fruit and fresh breads from the countryside.
Each day, the chef presents new and exciting lessons. You will visit markets, craft shops, museums, Avignon, castles, cathedrals and more.
Each participant is presented with a folder, which gives details of the week to come and recipes for each cooking lesson. |

Upon request
Monday: Transfer from the Avignon TGV station at approximately 4pm to La Malle Poste. You will be greeted by Chef Philippe and presented with a welcome aperitif and appetizers. Your welcome dinner will be at a bistro restaurant and then you will be transferred back to your B&B.
Tuesday: After breakfast you will visit the town of Gordes where you have free time to sightsee and have lunch on your own. Before you return you will visit an olive oil mill and have a tasting . You will return and begin your first lesson in the late afternoon. Dinner will be served and you will learn about the local wines.
Wednesday: After breakfast you will drive to Saint-Remy-de-Provence with the chef and visit the famous local market. Take the time to wander along the narrow streets and visit all the markets filled with fresh fruits and vegetables. Lunch will be on your own. Pick up will be about 3:30 and you will return to the B&B for another cooking class with dinner and wine to follow.
Thursday: Breakfast is followed by a trip to Avignon. Here you have the time to stroll this ancient city. Lunch will be at La Vieille Fountaine, a Michelin star restaurant, offering spectacular French Haute Cuisine. The rest of the afternoon you will have time to discover a medieval palace, a Romanesque cathedral and more. Dinner will be on your own.
Friday: This morning you will have a guided tour with Philippe to the village of Lourmarin. Stroll along the streets and shop for local art, crafts and souvenirs. Philippe will show you the best bargains. Lunch will be on your own. On your return you will stop at a winery for a tasting of red and white wines. Upon your arrival you will begin your cooking lesson and learn new techniques and tips. Dinner will follow your lesson.
Saturday: After breakfast you may chose to relax or visit the small village of Cheval Blanc. Lunch will be on your own. Return for your last cooking class and your Farewell dinner served with great wine.
Sunday: One last tour is planned at 10 am to the town of L'isle-sur-la-Sorgue which is filled with small boutiques and antiques. Lunch will be on your own and you will be picked up at 2:30 and transferred to the Avignon TGV station. |
